Amy Hart, Filmmaker / Creative Director
Award-winning filmmaker Amy Hart is dedicated to shedding light on important global health issues and solutions. Hart has directed hundreds of broadcast programs, numerous short and long form documentaries, and several highly effective multimedia campaigns on the topic. Her independent film on global water issues entitled WATER FIRST: Reaching the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) premiered at the Environmental Film Festival in Our Nation’s Capitol, and was shown at numerous conferences and festivals around the world including the World Water Forum, the UN African Water Summit, the World Expo in Spain, Amnesty International Film Festival in Sweden, Pan African Film Fest in LA, The American Public Health Association annual meeting, The Rhodos Environmental Film Festival in Greece, which garnered a Fulbright Cultural Exchange Award. She also won an International Jury Award at the World Water Forum in Mexico City, the UN Environmental Programme Award, and a SUNY Initiatives for Women Award. The film is distributed by Bullfrog Films and has shown on Malawi National TV and on UNTV.
Hart gained experience working in the film industry in New York City and held staff positions in marketing and publicity at Miramax Films, Fine Line Features, New Line Cinema, and King World Productions. She was the director of Public Health Live! at NYNetwork for 5 years; and the director of Public Health Productions at the New York Academy of Medicine where she also directed health outreach campaigns for the City of New York and other organizations.
Amy Hart is also a professional photographer and is the official photographer for New Year’s Eve in Times Square and Solstice Yoga in Times Square – and is currently developing an exhibition of her photography. See Amy Hart Studios. She earned her BA at Bennington College, and currently lives in Northern California.
